Hello/Hadih everyone, and welcome to my blog! My name is Kiernan Andrews (or Miss. Andrews) and I am currently a elementary teacher candidate at UNBC which is located on the unceded traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh in Prince George, B.C. I am so grateful to be able to learn and soon educate on this land.

Here is a picture of me!

A little bit about me, is that I love working with children. I have been an education assistant for SD57 for the past five years and have loved every minute of it! Being an education assistant is what inspired me to pursue the field of teaching. I knew within a few short weeks that teaching is something I had a passion for and I couldn’t be more grateful for this opportunity at UNBC. Besides my love for teaching, I love to bake in my spare time and try different recipes. I find baking to be very calming (when I find myself stressed or overwhelmed, I often turn to the kitchen to find my focus and regroup), I also am obsessed with animals, specifically dogs and cows. My partner and I recently became owners of a Bernese Mountain dog at the beginning of the year and he is the best companion I could have ever asked for! During the summers my family and I try to make our way east to visit family in Newfoundland, and I must say over all of the places I have travelled to Newfoundland is by far my favourite. It feels like home away from home.

I can’t wait to see what the education program has in store for me, but I am loving the journey so far and I am looking forward to sharing my experiences overtime through my blog. Stay tuned for all that is to come!
